Stutter center gets financial boost

The non-profit Center for Children Who Stutter received a $9,000 boost from the 2008 Dean’s Car Show, which took place during the university’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

Approximately 1,750 spectators were on hand to see Indianapolis 500 race winner, Parnelli Jones, as the grand marshal. President Milton Gordon gave special recognition to Jones and awarded trophies to 84 car owners. Dean Rick Pullen, organizer, was assisted by Professor Robert Sage, Dr. Robert Emry and students from Communications Week and advertising.

Sponsors were Ford Motor Co., Yokohama Tires, Road and Track, Southern California Automobile Club, McCoy Mills, LoJack and Velocity Magazine.
