Cris Abrego (RTVF ‘95), executive producer of the reality production company, 51 Minds Entertainment, continues to rack up successes in the style of celebreality, joined by executive producer, Mark Cronin, of Mindless Entertainment.

Some of his most recent accomplishments include “NY Goes to Work,” “Megan Wants a Millionaire,” and “Gotti’s Way.”

Abrego is known for “his proven blockbuster combination of creative ideas and brave production techniques in reality television.”

He started as a cub producer in local news. Then he joined Bunim-Murray Productions and was on his way with the top rated MTV show, “Road Rules.” For that show, he oversaw production in Mexico, Central America, New Zealand, Paris, Germany, Fiji and Australia.

Following a few years freelancing, he formed 51 Pictures in 2004. He created and executive produced MTV’s “Surf Girls,” “The Hitchhiker Chronicles” for FX and “The Surreal Life” for The WB.The latter became the cornerstone of NBC’s “Celebrealty.”

The first two seasons of “The Surreal Life” spin-off, “Flavor of Love,” went on to become the highest rated program in the network’s history.

Now, 51 Minds is a part of Endemol USA but continues to run as an independent production company. As such, Abrego’s touch carries on to produce shows “that provide hilarious and ridiculous antics that made the 51 Minds successful.”
