Marc Stein to Receive Alumni Visionary Award
Marc
Stein (Journalism ’91) is one of six alumni
who will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award at Visions &
Visionaries April 22. Mark joins 10 other alumni from the College
of Communications who have won the award. Marc is the lead reporter
and columnist for ESPN.com and anchors the National Basketball Association’s
coverage for the world’s most popular sports website (averaging
12 million monthly visitors).
He also makes regular analyst appearances across all ESPN media
platforms. His work includes SportsCenter, NBA FastBreak, ESPNEWS,
Cold Pizzaand Outside the Lines; and he serves as a frequent contributor
to ESPN Radio and ESPN Magazine.
Prior to joining ESPN, Marc covered the NBA for more than five years
at the Dallas Morning News. Before that, he traveled as a beat writer
with the Los Angeles Lakers for two seasons and the L.A. Clippers
for 1½ seasons as a reporter for The Los Angeles Daily News.
While at CSUF, Marc was a writer and editor for The Daily Titan
for six of his eight semesters. He interned at The Washington Post
in summer 1990.
