Eva
Hedger joined the Department of Communications staff
in fall 2005 as administrative support coordinator, replacing Karen
Brackett. She gave up a full time position at Fullerton Community
College in the Title V grants office and a part-time job at Disneyland.
Hedger boasts a varied career with the Richard Nixon Library and
Birthplace, Disneyland and FCC, and holds degrees from FCC and CSUF
in English. She eventually finished her degree in spring 2005. Now
besides working full time, she is taking five graduate level English
classes in the evenings and pursuing a B.S. in Animal Science at
Mt. Sac. Recently, Eva presented her first juried paper titled “A
Horse! A Horse! My Kingdom for a Horse!” at the Department
of English's Acacia Conference.
Hedger is an equestrian, riding competitively in local shows and
training new riders. On weekends, she trains for Hunter/Jumpers.
Animal
Trax: Participants in what has become an annual
event sponsored by the CSUF Public Relations
Student Society of America brought their pets, mostly dogs,
to the 5K/10K Animal Trax walk, jog, run at the Cal State Fullerton
campus in November 2005. The money raised goes to New Beginnings
for Animals, an animal rescue facility in Mission Viejo.
The Daily Titan
advertising staff won Best Advertising Campaign of 2005
at the annual Associated College Press conference in Kansas City
in October. Earlier in the year they won first place from the College
of Newspaper Business and Advertising Managers.
