Academy Teams with RTVF Faculty

Dr. Philippe Perebinossoff (RTVF) and Professor Shelley Jenkins (RTVF) are cooperating this spring with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation’s Archive of American Television to offer a new course titled simply “American Television.”

According to Perebinossoff, “Students will have access to the foundation’s archives at the academy and online via emmy’s.org. In class, we will examine television programs in the context of changing cultural and economic trends and influences.”

He added that the goal is to help students understand the significant impact of television in the broadcasting industry and on society as a whole.

The academy, the organization that sponsors the Emmy awards, offers prestigious internships for students and has historically had a keen interest in education outreach.
