The Daily Titan was named a Gold Medalist for 2006-07 by the Columbia
Scholastic Press Association in fall 2007. The highest scores were in overall presentation, editing and headlines, graphics/design and arts/entertainment.
One of the judges noted that “Buzz” (entertainment) was the strongest
section in the paper.
The advertising staff did equally well. They placed second overall by the College Newspaper Business & Advertising
Managers, Inc.
The staff also received second and third place awards in various categories by the California College Media Association and the Orange County Ad Club.
And Tusk, the student magazine produced in two communications courses, took top honors in a contest sponsored by the College Media Advisers, a national body representing student media.
