The CSUF debate team finished in the top 32 teams in the nation at the Wake Forest tournament in November 2007, with senior Luis Magallon finishing
in fourth place.
The team started the debate season with a big push at the USC tournament.
Five speakers won awards in the Junior Varsity division. Joel Salcedo, Jeanette Rodriguez, Eleecia Barksdale, and Elize Ramirez all finished in the top 12 speakers. Magallon finished third.
There were over 100 teams and 200 speakers at the competition, including Harvard and Berkeley.
The team also showed its winning colors at the CSU Northridge tournament
with four first place trophies. Bryce Bridge and Danny Stambaugh won the round-robin format in the open division against two teams from Southwestern and Pepperdine with a perfect 4-0 record.
Salcedo and Rodriguez repeated the feat with a perfect 4-0.
